Louis de Mieulle (comp, bass, keyboards); Matt Garstka (drums); Casimir Liberski (piano, keyboards)
Released in November 2011, this is Louis' first solo album. It displays his talents as a composer and electric bassist.
Unlike most "jazz" albums, the emphasis is put on the compositions first. Each tune has a unique form/structure. From twisted groove-jazz ("Scapegoat 1"), progressive hip-hop ("Scapegoat 2"), to math drum 'n' bass ("Soundfrieze") and program music ("Portrait de Famille"). "Solitude", a solo bass improvisation, closes the album with Indian and European classical flavors - two aesthetics he's been studying for years. An effort has been made to create a music that is both experimental and accessible; intellectual and sensual. This music is not intended for musicians only.
