Dennis Haklar (guitar); Jon Anderson (vocals); Larry Coryell (guitar); Mark Egan (Bass); Thierry Arpino (Drums)
There is a lot of fusion here, but also bits of world music, King Crimson-like weirdness, tribal fusion and more mainstream progressive rock included at various points. The jazzy elements definitely are the prevailing factor, but it certainly doesn’t end there. However you label this (or its individual parts) it is a strong disc that works really well.Lizard's Tale, the new release by guitarist and producer Dennis Haklar brings together for the first time jazz-fusion legend Larry Coryell and Progressive Rock pioneer Jon Anderson (The voice of YES). Also featured on this release are bassist Mark Egan and drummer Thierry Arpino. Egan and Arpino provide a solid grooving foundation upon which Haklar and Coryell create a tapestry of sound embellished by the angelic vocalizations of Jon Anderson.
Featured on this new release is a modern adaptation of the 11th House classic penned by Larry Coryell; “Low-Lee-Tah”. Haklar and Coryell wrote music for this project with a vision of crossing genres as can be heard on the title track.
