AbstractLogix :: Artists :: In Stock :: Dojo: Road Trip

Dojo: Road Trip
Dojo: Road Trip

Brian Baggett (Guitar); Luke Stone (Drums); Chris Handley (Bass); Jeff Harshbarger (Bass)

Road Trip is the fourth release from Kansas based fusion trio Dojo. Dojo is original, heavy jazz fusion lead by guitarist Brian Baggett. This album continues with the theme of big guitars and sheets of sound improvisation. Each song on Road Trip also has strong melodies and that big Dojo sound. The record is as pleasing to listen to from a sonic perspective as it is musically with many different guitar sounds blended into the arrangements. For Road Trip, Dojo brought in Jeff Harshbarger (Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey) to play bass on a number of tracks. If you like good compositions, improvisation and a signature sound, Dojo just might be your band!

Reviews

" Dojo has a unique way of staying away frm the predictable. By focusing on the song's inherent platform for heavy exploration, DOJO does not rely on cliched riffs and soloing"-Abstract Logix

"The guitar work of Brian Baggett is unfettered and imaginative, streching the sound in all kinds of inventive ways"- Joe Klopus-The Kansas City Star

"Baggett's incredible guitar playing falls somewhere between Holdsworth and Alex Lifeson, yet with a sound of its own"- Mike Varney, Guitar Player magazine
