Gary Peacock Trio Releases “Tangents”
At 82 years old, and after playing for nearly 65 years, jazz bassist Gary Peacock still has it, as evidenced in his latest release Tangents, featuring his trio with Marc Copland and Joey Baron.
Peacock’s bass lines and solos give the album a creative flow that only a seasoned player could conjure up. The trio performs five of the bassist’s own compositions, with additional input from Copland and Baron. They also perform the standards “Blue In Green” by Miles Davis, and the theme to the film Spartacus.
